Learning about former President Abraham Lincoln from a woman who wrote a children's book about him sent students at Waukegan's John S. Clark Elementary School away with feelings of self-worth, the importance of reading and perseverance. 'If people don't believe in you, you should still believe in yourself,' Kingston August, a Clark 5th grader, said after learning about Lincoln as a youth. 'If you fall down seven times, it means you get up eight,' he added, quoting the author, Eileen Rajala Meyer.
